Seniors 55 Alive Driver Refresher Course

The seniors program is hosting a “55 Alive Driver Refresher Course” on July 21 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #009 in Windsor.  The class runs from     9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Lunch is provided.  There is no fee for any senior over the age of 65 providing you have not taken this course in the last 2 years.  Under the age of 65, there is a $40.00 registration fee.  The Nova Scotia Safety Council needs a minimum of 25 participants in order to have enough to hold this course.  This one day course is strictly lecture and video which is extremely helpful because it will upgrade your skills in reading road signs, entering and exiting off and on ramps, driving in nasty weather etc.  If you are interested, please call 798-8380.

The Seniors Safety Program would like to suggest a few precautions to ensure that you stay safe and healthy while outside in your yards, gardens or vacationing this Summer.

1. Always wear suitable footwear and clothing.

2. When bending over or kneeling, always stand up

     slowly.

3. Protect yourself from insect bites.

4. Use Sun Screen, wear sunglasses and a hat.

Be safe and enjoy the Summer!
