In 2008 when boundaries were changed and the Uniacke area, with the agreement of the citizens of the communities, went from being part of  the Cobequid Community Health Board to the West Hants and later the West Hants Uniacke Community Health Board the request went out to have two representatives sit on the board.  At this time the West Hants Uniacke Community Health Board is pleased to introduce you to the two volunteers who are representing the people of the Lakeland/ Uniacke area on the community health board. 

Mr. Ken Isles has been with the board since the move in 2008.  Ken’s passion for the community and his desire to support the people of his area is well noted.  It was with Ken’s encouragement that the first Community Health Fair was held at the Uniacke Legion in May of 2009 and hopefully a second fair will be held this spring.

Ms. Kim Legge, whose smiling face you will often see at the Uniacke Library, is our newest board member.  Prior to moving to Mount Uniacke Kim lived in the Annapolis Valley and served on the Central Kings Community Health Board.  Kim will bring her experience and expertise to our board and we look forward to her being part of our team.  Kim has agreed to assist with the expansion of a resource directory that the CHB has developed for the past number of years.  Prior directories were for the West Hants area but this year, with Kim’s assistance, we will be including services from the Mount Uniacke area.  Later in the year the new West Hants Uniacke Resource Directory will be delivered to your homes.

As members and staff of the West Hants Uniacke Community Health Board we welcome both Kim and Ken to our Community Health Board.
